Terms of Service
Edition …
These terms are an agreement between you and Mootrix Studio ("we", "us"). They cover your Mootrix account and every game we operate with it, including Wildeck.
1. Agreeing to these terms
You accept these terms when you create a Mootrix account, and again whenever we publish a new edition of them. If you do not accept them, you cannot use the service. We will tell you before a new edition takes effect — on this website, in the launcher and in each game — and ask you to accept it before you play on.
You must be at least 16 years old to hold an account, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country if that is higher. If you are under 18, you may only make purchases with the permission of whoever is responsible for you.
2. Your account
One account signs you into every Mootrix game. You are responsible for keeping its password to yourself, and for what is done with it. Tell us at support if you think somebody else has it.
You must give a real email address and keep it current. It is how we confirm the account, reset a password, send receipts and tell you about a suspension or a deletion. An account with an unconfirmed address cannot play.
Your account is yours alone. Do not sell it, rent it, share it or transfer it.
Each machine the launcher signs in on is listed on your account page and can be signed out from there.
3. What you are buying
Purchases give you a licence to use virtual items and currency inside a particular game. You do not own them, they have no cash value, they cannot be exchanged for money, and they cannot be moved between accounts or between games unless a game says otherwise.
Virtual items exist only for as long as the game they belong to is operated. See section 7.
4. Payments, refunds and your right to withdraw
Payments are handled by our payment provider. We never see or store your card details. Prices shown at checkout include any taxes we are required to collect.
Purchases are delivered to the game as soon as the payment clears, usually within moments. If a game is briefly unreachable, the delivery is queued and completed automatically; your account page shows a purchase that has not yet landed.
If you are a consumer in the EU, the UK or another country with a statutory cooling-off period, you have a 14-day right to withdraw from a purchase of digital content. That right ends once delivery begins with your express consent, which is what you give at checkout.
Our own policy is simpler and at least as generous: unspent currency and unused items are refunded on request within 14 days of the purchase. After 14 days, or once they have been spent or used, we are no longer able to refund them, because what they bought has already been delivered.
To ask for a refund, write to support within those 14 days, from the email address on your account, saying roughly when you bought. We answer every refund request. Where the law gives you a refund you get it regardless of the above, and where a purchase went wrong on our side we will put it right whenever you tell us.
Chargebacks filed without contacting us first will usually result in the account being suspended until the matter is settled. Please write to us instead; it is faster for both of us.
5. How to behave
Do not: harass, threaten or abuse other players; use slurs or hate speech; cheat, exploit bugs, or use bots, scripts or modified clients; attack or overload our services; try to get into anybody else's account; impersonate somebody; or use the service for anything unlawful.
Names you choose are read by other people. We refuse names that are abusive, and we may rename or suspend an account over one.
6. Moderation and suspension
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. Because the account is what signs you into every Mootrix game, a suspension applies to all of them.
We tell you by email when we suspend an account, and why. If you think a decision is wrong, reply to that email or write to support, and a person will look at it. We do not refund purchases on an account closed for breaking these terms, except where the law requires it.
7. The service changes
Games are updated, rebalanced, and sometimes retired. We may change how a game works, what an item does, or what is on sale. If we retire a game or the service entirely, we will give at least 30 days' notice by email and stop selling anything in it immediately; where the law requires a refund of unspent purchases at that point, you will get one.
8. Our content, and yours
The games, their art, sound, code and text are ours or our licensors'. Your licence to use them is personal, non-exclusive and revocable, and lasts as long as your account does.
Anything you submit — a name, a message, a report — stays yours. You give us permission to store, display and transmit it as far as running the service requires.
9. Liability
We provide the service with reasonable care and skill, but not as a guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or free of faults. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited — and nothing here affects the statutory rights you have as a consumer.
Otherwise, and to the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it arose.
10. Ending the agreement
You may delete your account at any time from your account page. Deletion is scheduled rather than immediate: for 7 days, signing in cancels it. After that the account and every game's progress on it are erased and cannot be recovered. Purchase records are kept in an anonymised form where the law requires us to keep them.
We may end this agreement by closing your account under section 6, or by retiring the service under section 7.
11. Law, disputes and changes to these terms
These terms are governed by the law of the province of Quebec and the laws of Canada applicable in it. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of your own country, and you may bring proceedings there.
If you are in the EU, the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform is available at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We would much rather you wrote to us first.
We publish a new edition of these terms when they change in substance, and ask you to accept it before you play on. Each edition is identified by its date, and the one you accepted is recorded on your account.
